Sat radio is 12.99 a month; HD is free to receive
HOWEVER
Sat radio equipment can be as low as 10 bucks, HD requires you to change your radio out and can range 150 and up.
WIth HD you will get a higher quality FM and AM signal and a few extra channelsdepending upon station/area; With Sat you will all new programming, 170+ anywhere you have your radio.
listen to xm and sirius for free online to see if you like it or go to your nearest Circuit City or Best Buy to listed to the HD radio in your area.
Satellits uses satellites to broadcast, and requires a subscription, as well as tons of equipment and installation if you dont have a satellite radio head unit. HD radio broadcasts over FM and AM frequencies just better quality and more stations like Satellite. And an HD radio receiver. I say go HD radio
