Comparing satellite and HD radio is a bit like comparing apples and oranges. First, the HD in HD radio stands for Hybrid Digital not High Definition. It is also local broadcasts only while Satellite is global. On the flip side, HD radio is free. HD radio sounds about as good as high quality internet radio which is about as good as a standard mp3. Satellite can be better but is usually about the same or worse. It depends on your situation... if you are listening at home and have a broadband connection try some radio through iTunes. If you are looking for a table top radio try HD. If you want something portable try satellite. Hope this helps.
