I just bought a new HD radio and I’m geoing to take it to someone to install it but I just saw in one of the instalation drawings that came with the radio that there was a cable connecting to a “satellite tuner” I dont know do I need a Satellite tuner in order to get HD radio or is thta just an extra addon and now required to install my radio?

You only need a satellite tuner if you plan to subscribe to satellite radio, like XM or Sirius. If your new head unit has HD Radio built in (as opposed to “HD-Radio Ready”) then you don’t need any additional parts, or a subscription.
Lots of manufacturers draw things out in their installation guides because they want you to know that you can add more peripherals to their system.
In your case, you can own both HD Radio (free - as long as you buy the hardware) and satellite radio (Sirius or XM - a subscription is required and hardware is needed).
Good luck!
