KABC in Los Angeles broadcasts in HD because a Mexican radio station tries to jam their signal.
HD radio stations transmit a digital signal. This is more robust to noise and has higher quality that analog signals.
Because digital signals use less bandwidth, stations have the options to transmit multiple signals (or streams), within their HD signal
Example: 77.7 is main station 77.7.1 “DJ Jam favorites” 77.7.2 “DJ Lucy archive”
Yes, you’ll get more stations and as long as you can receive the signal the audio will be perfect.. no fading .. etc…
